All the Rage: a celebration of women in class struggle

A socialist feminist conference hosted by women in Workers’ Liberty

FB_20141006_23_25_08_Saved_PictureWomen have never enjoyed equality – in pay, politics or society. Now, to pay for capitalism’s crisis, we have been pushed back further, suffering disproportionately from cuts to jobs, health and welfare, and the growing strength of the reactionary right.

We still provide the bulk of the domestic labour, not least in caring for the young, old and ill, left by the way-side by austerity. We face attacks on our reproductive rights, our sexual freedom and expression, and attacks on our bodies through domestic violence and sexual violence. It’s the same, and worse, for women the world over, hit by poverty, climate crisis and religious fundamentalism.

Meanwhile, the left and labour movement, which should be fighting for a solution, are often part of the problem.

indiaBut women are fighting! From migrant workers getting organised in Britain to sisters defending abortion rights in Spain and Turkey, from Kurdish fighters against ISIS to workers striking for a living wage. Around the world women are building on our rage to fight back with ideas, courage and creativity.

Women in Workers’ Liberty are organising this conference to celebrate and learn from women’s struggles in Britain and around the world, and consider how socialist feminist ideas can make a difference.

We want an anti-capitalist feminist movement, geared to class struggle, and a labour movement and left transformed to finally take women’s struggles seriously.

We welcome people of all genders and none to join us for discussion and debate if you’re interested come along to “All the Rage”, bring a delegation and invite a speaker to come and tell you more.

Free creche and accommodation (get in touch to book). The conference will be free to attend but there will be a suggested donation to help cover food, printing and speaker costs.
